The Guernsey Community Foundation is hosting a public debate to explore real areas of need in Guernsey and how these could be better measured, monitored and met in the future.
The debate at Les Cotils from 7.30 pm until 9 pm on Monday 22 July 2013 will feature a panel of four drawn from the public, private and voluntary sectors and the ‘front line’.
Panel members are Dave Clark, Rachel Copeland, Deputy Andrew Le Lievre, and Peter Roffey.
Peter Roffey will open the debate with some leading questions and a few thoughts of his own for the audience to ponder.
Deputy Peter Harwood, Chief Minister of Guernsey, will advise the debate on what’s happening within the States of Guernsey.
The debate will be chaired by Wayne Bulpitt, Director of the Guernsey Community Foundation.
“We are very much looking forward to a lively debate on this critical subject – now is the time to act, for the sake of future generations,” Mr Bulpitt said.
“It is hoped that the evening’s discussions can provide answers or suggestions as to how we can have an improved understanding of areas of need, social exclusion and standards of living in Guernsey; measurement of its rate of change: and to encourage the production of relevant strategies and a few quick wins,” he said.
All interested parties are invited to attend.
